My Face Acne Story

October 30, 2009

Hi – Yan here!

I used to despair when I looked in the mirror every morning and when getting ready to go out for the night at the red marks, the blackheads, the scars.

I tried growing a beard but the acne produced bald patches and it looked terrible. I tried growing my hair long to hide my forehead and sides of my face. Yeah – that sucked!

If you’ve tried a few acne products with no success you’ll be wondering how some seem to work for some people but not you. Yep, me, too. I’ve tried dozens. Ok, some work for a short period of time but many lotions and stuff dry your skin and have side effects. None of the results lasted!

I thought I’d grow out of acne in my teens. My early twenties! My late twenties! Nope! I thought I was stuck with it for life. I tell you this – I used to look for girls with acne to ask out figuring they wouldn’t or couldn’t object to a guy with it. Oh boy!

I kept thinking – does ANYTHING work?

After spending years trying all sorts of stuff, I began wondering if there natural methods to get rid of acne. I tried the 3 day method which looked good. It’s basically about cleaning out your system by eating apples and giving yourself an enema. Yuck. Sorry.

I tried the apples but you can only eat so many before feeling like the inside of a pie and I did not seem to improve in three days! Heck, that’s not for me. Click here to check it out here if you like.

I wanted a more rounded approach and finally discovered Acne No More. Now, this is also about cleansing but it takes a holistic approach and treats your whole body, not just the acne. I saw results within a week and after a couple of months I couldn’t believe how clear my skin had become. But I didn’t get my hopes up – I’ve been here before.

But after sticking with the system for a couple of months I was feeling optimistic. I couldn’t believe it had worked – and for so long.

Now, yes, this system does involve watching your diet. It tells you what foods to eat and what to avoid. It also tells you about a hormone supplement and how to discover what really triggers your acne. There’s also lots of info about keeping your skin clear and how to look after your skin.

If you’ve tried other detox diets before and your acne’s come back, Acne No More explains why. But it’s not just about detoxing and dieting. The information actually makes sense and will help you take care of the rest of your body, too!

What’s more, all this is done with safe, natural products.

I became a different person. I had more confidence – especially with girls! – but also at work. It’s true – if you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside, too!

Drawbacks? Well, ok, let’s be totally honest here. As you know, some acne cures work for some folk but not others. None worked for me until I went holistic! I can’t absolutely guarantee that it’ll work for you.

Also, you have to read the system carefully and follow it – otherwise it ain’t gonna work, is it! If you’re looking for a quick fix – this isn’t it. But if your acne has been aggravating you as much as mine’s been aggravating me, you’ll find it easy to follow even if it takes a little effort.

I’m still following the system and taking care of myself and I’m looking and feeling a heckuva lot better.

So that’s my story. I hope you found it useful. Click here to see the Acne No More system.

Natural Acne Skin Care

October 30, 2009

Although you may be tempted to head straight for the medicine shelf when acne breaks out, pharmaceuticals can have a detrimental effect both on your acne and your body. Some can be positively dangerous (read the label under ‘Possible Side Effects’) and some are simply a waste of money having no effect at all.

Of course, if you are seeing a doctor or dermatologist, you will probably want to follow their suggested acne cure regime. But do so carefully and if you start to experience any side effects, even with carefully prescribed medicine, get in touch with your doctor at once.

However, many health professionals are now looking at natural cures for many ailments, including acne. They would only do this if they had proof that such acne treatment worked.

Here’s one that worked for me!

There are many natural and holistic acne treatments and following any such regime can, at worst, have little effect but more likely, it will show benefits. However, most systems either don’t follow through or go the whole way towards helping you achieve a long-lasting cure which is why I wanted to tell you my experience of a holistic method that worked for me.

But whatever acne treatment you are following, you can also incorporate natural acne remedies. Here are a few.

Stay Clean!
Keep your skin clean and pores unclogged and free of bacteria by washing your face two or three times a day. Don’t overdo the washing as your skin needs to maintain a proper pH balance and whatever you do – don’t scrub!

Don’t squeeze! Yeah, I know, it’s tough but it’s best not to, and try not to touch your face with your hands as this can transfer bacteria which can cause an acne flare-up.

Guys – it’s best to shave to avoid bacteria in your hair. If you try to grow a beard you may find bald patches. Try both a safety razor and an electric razor and see which is the most comfortable. Shave as gently as you can to avoid nicks.

Say NO to Oil!
Girls – if you use a moisturiser or liquid foundation, use ones which are oil-free and safe for acne treatment. Remove make-up every night with gentle soap and water or acne face wash.

Zinc has been shown to reduce acne and can help prevent acne scarring but it’s also a poison so don’t overdose. Stay well below the 100mg per day limit; 50mg is good. Also take a multivitamin as greater levels of zinc require more copper and manganese. This is long-term thing – give it at least three months.

Lemon is a Natural Treatment
Use natural lemon to exfoliate. It removes dead skin from clogged pores. First wash your face. Squeeze a lemon and dab the juice onto your face with cotton wool. Let it dry for about ten minutes then rinse. The juice will likely sting a little which is natural – avoid the eyes! You can dilute it if it’s too strong. Do this twice a day and check the results in a week.

Drink plenty of water to flush the toxins out of your system. This alone is not an acne cure but it will contribute and it will help the rest of you stay healthy.

Remember that many natural acne treatments can take a few weeks to start working so give a treatment at least two weeks, before discounting it.

If you like the idea of holistic, natural treatment, here’s one that worked for me!

Face Acne – Why We Get It!

October 28, 2009

If you’ve had face acne as long as me, you get to wondering why. “Why me?” mainly, but also how we get it, what causes it and so on.

After much research I can say one thing – there are many contributing factors – which is what makes it so difficult to treat.

Click here to see a treatment that worked me!

One of the main causes of face acne in boys is male hormones. Girls also experience hormonal changes at premenstrual times, too. Add to this other factors such as stress – yes! – over-secretion of the sebaceous glands, clogged pores, bacteria, diet, poor hygiene and genetics, and you have an almighty recipe for a catastrophe that’s not going to go away easily.

Although hormones may be largely responsible, because there are so many factors involved, and because acne takes several forms, you can see how it’s not always easy to determine the exact cause – and in many cases there are several causes – and decide upon a suitable acne treatment.

Stayin’ Cool Really Works!
I was really interested to see that stress can play a part. This is because it stimulates the adrenal glands which leads to the over-production of hormones. So stay cool! Not easy, I know, with the pressures of school, college and work, but it’s worth trying to remain calm and even taking up meditation.

As far as diet is concerned, it seems the jury’s out! It was thought that diet played a major part in acne cures but now they’re not so sure. However, before you tuck into that large pizza and wolf down another bar of chocolate, it is widely thought that greasy, fried and spicy food, as well as dairy products can make existing acne worse.

It’s certainly worth removing various foods from your diet and seeing if there’s an improvement.

Hygiene? Again, it’s not such an important factor as it was once thought to be but, heck, who want to associate with an unhygienic person anyway? However, it is important that you use a good acne face wash if you have an oily skin and you need a regular skin care regime.

Because face acne can be caused by combinations of factors, it can help your treatment if you know which factors apply to you. You may be able to track down possible suspects yourself but in some cases you may need to see a doctor or dermatologist.

I eventually managed to cure myself. Click here to see how!
